Quilt Comes to Bisbee

next step in community service.

for June 8th through 22nd 2008

For the first time in history, the AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT “The Names Project Foundation” will be displayed in Cochise County. Sponsored in part by a grant from The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona “The Alliance Fund”. And hopefully with help from you.

Ten sections of the AIDS QUILT will be on display from June 8th until June 22nd in old Bisbee, creating an AIDS/HIV awareness and educational walk, presentations, and events, with a luminaria lighting on Saturday June 14th in Bisbee’s City Park in remembrance of those —our friends, our partners, our family members and coworkers —who are infected and for those that we have lost to AIDS.

These events will help educate and re-educate our community on the ever present, ever lasting infliction of AIDS.

You can help by making a donation to Bisbee Pride Quilt Display where all proceeds will remain in Cochise County to help with the care and assistance of HIV/AIDS clients.

We hope you will make a decision to participate. For many of us this will be a first and once in a lifetime opportunity to view this historic work of art depicting over 45,000 names.
